We will be holding our Sunday morning service at 11am until midday each week in the Rowena Davey Centre, also known as the Dunmow Day Centre at Chequers Lane, Great Dunmow, CM6 1EQ. We will have more space and be able to have a more flexible and informal style service.

Activities include worship, good Bible teaching, a creche, childrens activities, light refreshments and a chance to chat.

Come and join in, we look forward to seeing you there.

DSCN2580 800x609Welcome to our website.

Never been to a church service, rarely go to a church service or used to go, feel like you won't fit in or will feel like a fish out of water, don't feel good enough, are too bad, not old enough or too old, don't know what to expect, not sure what to wear, what to do, what to say or how much it costs, don't have anyone to babysit, think that you will be judged or even worse conscripted to the cause?

But you would like to know more about the Bible and what Jesus has done for you...

Crossing the threshold of any church building can be daunting - many of us have been in that position. We would like to share the Bible with you as best we can and maybe get to know you a bit better.

Why not ignore that little voice trying to put you off and come along? We would love to see you and your family.

A morning service at Dunmow BaptistWe are a friendly, small, yet keen Bible-centred church situated in the heart of Great Dunmow, where the age of our congregation ranges from under ten years to over 80 years. We are people who love the Lord Jesus Christ and aim to show his love to each other and to our community.

The morning and evening Sunday services last around an hour. Most services are taken by our pastor, with some being taken by guest speakers. Our services follow a fairly traditional pattern of Bible reading, children’s talk, prayer and preaching with appropriate songs in between. We usually stand to sing but otherwise remain seated. We use the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible and sing a mix of traditional and modern songs from New Christian Hymns. We use other versions of the Bible, where appropriate during our other activities.

There are no collections made during the services, however, if you wish to give a donation there are boxes provided.

For those who use hearing aids there is an induction loop in place.

Children are encouraged to be part of the congregation and the services are family-friendly so that everyone feels a part of the worship. Questionnaire-like service sheets are available to help young and old alike to participate by filling in the blanks and making notes on the sermon. There is a new double glazed gallery with an audio link, so those with young children can continue to see and hear the service without feeling they are the focus of attention. Most Sunday mornings we offer a crèche facility upstairs during the preaching. All our children’s workers are checked in line with our safeguarding policy.

A conveniently placed toilet facility, suitable for all, is available for use before, during and after the church services.

Please feel free to stay and chat after the service and get to know us better.
